Should You Refrigerate Your CBD Oil?
There’s a lot of evidence out there for CBD’s medical benefits, including its ability to help with things like anxiety, sleep issues, and depression. Right now, it is still considered an alternative medicine, though with the data on it piling up for its therapeutic uses, it might become standard medicine before we know it.

Now that so many people are using it, information about how to store it properly is necessary to make sure your CBD oil lasts as long as it should. Here’s some advice for how to store your CBD properly.

To Refrigerate Or Not To Refrigerate CBD

CBD is a natural substance, which means it has a shelf life. Over time it deteriorates. This is why proper CBD oil storage is necessary to consider so that you get the most out of your product. Through proper storage, it can be preserved longer so that its beneficial elements remain intact as long as they can.

CBD oil does not need to be refrigerated. However, placing it in direct sunlight is not a good idea. The best place to store it is somewhere with a low temperature and away from excess heat, light, and moisture. A dry pantry or kitchen cupboards are great places to store CBD oil, and the further away from a major appliance, the better.

CBD oil comes in a dark glass bottle that is airtight for a reason. This provides protection from sun exposure. Sun exposure can easily lead to the degradation of CBD quality. An airtight bottle is also necessary to keep the oxygen out. Oxygen can also cause CBD to break down. That’s why it is so important that you keep your CBD in the original container it came in.

No Harm In Refrigerating CBD

While CBD does not ˆneed to be refrigerated, it might not be a bad idea to do so. This is especially true if you live in a climate that is often hot and/or humid without the air conditioning on. Many people choose to refrigerate their CBD regardless of climate because they believe it will lead to it lasting longer. This might be true, but so far, there is no evidence that says refrigerating CBD definitively gives it a longer shelf life. Regardless, refrigeration will not hurt your CBD.

Note that CBD already lasts a decent length of time on its own. If you get a high quality CBD product, it should last for anywhere between one and two years. Check the expiration date on the bottle to be sure. Most likely, it will not last that long, as it tends to improve people’s quality of life.

If you do keep your CBD in the fridge, it might thicken up with those cooler temperatures. There is no harm in this, but it might make it more difficult to get it out of the bottle or dropper. As easy solution to this is to run the bottle under warm water for a minute or to leave it out for an hour before use. This will get it back to a full liquid at room temperature.

Final Thoughts

The bottom line is if your CBD properly, in a dark and cool place and in an airtight container, it will last longer. So, keep your CBD out of direct sunlight, keep the bottle shut tightly, and if your home is too hot and humid, put it in the fridge.
